Date for Tiji Festival 2016 is already fixed. It will be held from May 3rd to May 5th. We are now organizing a fixed departure trip. Our maximum group size is limited to twelve. Three days long festival will be carried out on Lo Manthang. This is a story about chasing demons from the sacred valley of Lo. It is based on a story of Deity Dorje Jono who fight against his devil father. To know more about the existence of Tiji Festival, click here.
Like you, many locals from upper mustang are also willing to attend this festival. Most of them are dressed traditionally. Lo Manthang will be full of people. Remember this is the most important of Upper Mustang. Lo Manthang looks very charming. Do you want to see how does festival looks like? You will follow 11 Days Trek Itinerary, both starting and ending in Kagbeni. A medieval village of Kagbeni is a gateway for Upper Mustang. Restricted area permits start count down, once you will make an entry from Kagbeni. We had planned two extra days each on both start and end of the trek. You will take an overland drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Also for Pokhara to Kathmandu you will use the overland drive. For a gap between Pokhara and Jomsom, you will take a short flight. And from Jomsom, as a warm up you will trek for the next three hours to Kagbeni.
Last by April 24th you should be in Kathmandu. We need one working day to issue the permits. You will be exploring the heritage sites, which are turned partially into rubble after devastating earthquake. Hopefully by that time three of them will be restored into normal. Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Square need some time.
